This book is a continuation of our "Double Header" for our Monthly BIG Ideas Exchange. David Phillips with Faster Glass Consulting, facilitated the first book, Designing for Growth, on Nov 8. The Dec book, "Solving Problems with Design Thinking", highlights case studies from the application of the tools in the Designing for Growth book. David is an excellent facilitator too!

First Book: “Designing for Growth: A Design Thinking Toolkit for Managers" by Jeanne Liedtka and Tim Ogilvie

Second Book: "Solving Problems with Design Thinking" by Jeanne Liedtka, Andrew King, and Kevin Bennett

In a clear and simple style, this book shows how design thinking has been applied successfully to address complex and different problems in a variety of organizations, both for- and not-for-profit. The ten case studies provide creative and innovative applications of design principles and supply sufficient detail of use to aid readers in their own planning processes.

Solving Problems with Design Thinking details ten real-world examples of managers who successfully applied design methods at 3M, Toyota, IBM, Intuit, and SAP; entrepreneurial start-ups such as MeYou Health; and government and social sector organizations, including the City of Dublin and Denmark's The Good Kitchen.

David Phillips with Faster Glass Consulting will facilitate this engaging discussion.

During this roundtable we'll:
· share our own experiences in this area in our businesses
· share best practices from our own personal experience or from industry thought leaders
· share ideas on how to improve the area within our businesses to fuel growth

Note: We are looking for people to facilitate book discussions, so please don’t hesitate to contact me if there is a book that you’re passionate about and would like to share with the group. We are currently looking to fill the 2014 calendar. The meetings take place the second Friday of every month, so pick a month that suits you for 2014. Thanks!
