Healthy Leaders, Healthy Business- January 14

Presented by BIG Member:

Cynthia Ackrill, MD, Human Performance and Executive Consultant and Coach

Wellness actually is a business strategy- perhaps your most important strategy! And unfortunately one often pushed down the priority list by busy high achievers working to build successful businesses. Business owners spend enormous effort and energy creating a vision for their business and developing elaborate business and strategic plans to fulfill their aspirations. But the success of the business is dependent on the performance capacity of its biggest investment, its creators and leadership- their ability to control and sustain energy, focus, creativity, and innovation with resilience, longevity, and balance to realize possibilities and surpass goals.

Science is giving us new understandings and techniques to harness our abilities to perform. Join Cynthia Ackrill, MD of WellSpark to learn new ways to design and achieve goals to optimize your health and performance capacity. Create a proactive strategic plan for yourself, your leadership, and your company- to increase your overall productivity, save you money, and give you the edge necessary to compete and innovate in the face of non-stop challenge.

The Hidden Costs of Stress- The Not-So-Silent Profit Killer- February 4

It is estimated that day-to-day stress is costing corporations $300 billion dollars/year in health care costs, injuries, lost workdays, and decreased productivity! And this does not begin to address the subtle losses due to the insidious drain of focus, energy, and creativity that we all (yes, even high achievers who ‘thrive in the face of pressure’) experience in today’s world of ever mounting pressures, information overload, and pervasive negativity.

New understandings of the science of stress and its role in the workplace are leading to innovative proactive approaches to support improved well-being and reduced costs. In these times of ever increasing demands and decreasing resources, addressing stress is a necessity for a thriving business. Attend this hands-on workshop to learn more about how stress may be impacting your profits and what specific techniques and solutions you can use to reverse the trend. As a Fellow of the American Institute of Stress, Dr. Ackrill brings a depth and breadth of knowledge to this pressing challenge.
